Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the JSH180B have a documented bevel shoe?
Yes. Bosch's current page and the shared manual identify footplate adjustment up to 45 degrees for the JSH180; the manual gives a 45-degree detent and marks at 15 and 30 degrees. Remove the anti-splinter insert before adjustment and verify the shoe is secure.
Explore this need in the finder →What battery and charger does the JSH180B package include?
None: Bosch marks the battery and charger as not included. The linked 2021 JSH180 sheet lists Bosch 18V Li-ion packs and Bosch chargers; verify the current exact-model list instead of assuming every AMPShare partner pack is approved.

The JSH180 is the top-handle model with variable-speed trigger and switch lock, 0–2,700 SPM, and a 45-degree footplate. GST18V-47 is the barrel-grip model with a six-mark speed dial, 550–2,700 SPM and a locking slide switch; its shared manual says angle adjustment is JSH180-only.
Explore this need in the finder →The Bosch JSH180B is an 18V top-handle cordless jigsaw sold as a bare tool. It has a variable-speed trigger and an adjustable bevel shoe, unlike the barrel-grip GST18V-47N covered in the same manual. Bosch lists one T-shank blade, an anti-splinter insert and a bevel wrench; battery, charger and case are not included. This is a source-based assessment, not a report of hands-on testing.
Keep the retail suffix and package straight
Bosch's current US page identifies JSH180B and service part 3601E8J311; the instructions use JSH180. Its shared manual also covers GST18V-47, but the two have different controls and shoes. The model appears in Bosch's current US category listings; that is not proof of production status or retail inventory.
The exact page lists one T-shank blade, a JA1013 insert and bevel wrench, but no battery, charger or case. The manual says a plastic overshoe is equipped, and that the JA1013 only works with certain ground-sided blades. Bosch lists a JA1010 guide and JA1011 steel overshoe as compatible; neither is a vacuum kit.
A Bosch 2012/2013 catalog separately lists the historical JSH180-01 kit with two BAT618 batteries, a BC630 30-minute charger and a carrying case, and says the JSH180B was available without battery and charger. Treat that as a package distinction in that catalog edition, not evidence of a current JSH180B carton or seller offer; it does not change the bare-tool contents above. See Bosch’s 2012/2013 catalog, printed page 87.
Capacity figures conflict: the current page gives 3-1/2 inches of wood and 3/8 inch of steel, while the linked 2020 manual gives 4-23/32 inches of wood and 5/16 inch of mild steel. These are manufacturer specifications, not tests. If a limit is decisive, check the tool's nameplate and manual revision.
Trigger control is different from a dial-and-lock switch
The JSH180's trigger starts and stops the saw, with speed varied by trigger pressure; its listed no-load range is 0–2,700 SPM. A separate switch-lock button is described as protection against accidental starts. This suits a buyer who prefers trigger modulation over presetting a separate dial.
The GST18V-47 uses a barrel grip, a speed dial marked from 1 to 6, and a slide on/off switch that locks in the on position. Its speed range starts at 550 SPM. Both have a one-inch stroke and four orbital settings, but the speed control, minimum listed speed and handle are actual model differences. Bosch does not identify the JSH180B as brushless in the checked product data, so this review does not label its motor brushed or brushless.
Choose orbit by the manual's material guidance
The four positions are 0–3: Bosch recommends 0 for metals or thin sheet, 1 for softer stock where cleaner cutting or delicate scrolling matters, 2 for harder woods or particleboard, and 3 for softwood or plastic when speed matters more than finish. This is guidance, not a cut-quality guarantee; Bosch recommends trying scrap first.
The chip blower runs whenever the tool does and the saw has an LED. The blower moves debris; it does not capture dust. The checked page and manual do not establish a JSH180B vacuum hookup, so do not infer one from the blower or JA1010 guide. Bosch advises suitable coolant or lubricant for metal cuts.
Bevel is supported, with a setup change
Bosch lists bevel adjustment to 45 degrees, and the manual says the JSH180 shoe tilts both ways, with a 45-degree detent and marks at 15 and 30 degrees. Disconnect the battery and remove the JA1013 insert before adjustment; secure the shoe afterward. The manual's separate flush-cut position permits only 90-degree cuts and cannot be used with the optional guide or insert.
The manual expressly limits shoe adjustment to JSH180, so do not transfer bevel capability to GST18V-47. The JSH180 page does not document vacuum extraction either; bevel is not evidence of dust capture.
Battery compatibility deserves an exact check
The current page uses AMPShare language, but the JSH180-specific December 2021 sheet names Bosch 18V packs and chargers and warns against others. The documents differ in age; broad AMPShare wording does not establish approval for every partner-brand pack. Use the Bosch-listed baseline and verify the current exact-model list before relying on another brand. The bare-tool package needs both items if you lack compatible equipment.
Consider JSH180B if you want a top handle, trigger control and verified bevel capability, but do not need a confirmed vacuum hookup. It is a poor fit if a case, included battery or source-capture route is essential. Confirm the exact suffix, pack list and conflicting depth limits; no current seller stock or price is asserted.
Sources and limits
This assessment uses Bosch's exact JSH180B page, the linked JSH180/GST18V-47 operating and safety manual, Bosch's JSH180 battery/charger list, and the US cordless-jigsaw category. A bounded exact-name CPSC query returned an empty array on 2026-10-28; that result is not a guarantee of future or alternate-name recall status. No price, retailer availability, rating, hands-on test or ownership claim is made.
